KINDNESS is encouraged at all times. No cruelty is allowed. This includes not only our actions, our words, but hopefully our thoughts as well. We need to begin by treating ourselves well, as were made as awesome beings. We are allowed to bring food into Haug's room, but if we distract others or leave a mess, the privilege will be taken away. Water is the only beverage allowed in the room.

Our teacher requires Accelerated Reader points to be earned. However, she offers killer rewards for huge point amounts!
The great thing is that if we read over the summer, we can take tests on those books to earn points! And the books we work on in class can be tested on as well. If we earn 500 AR points, we get to design a t-shirt that Mrs. Haug will pay for. If we save our points (and don't cash them in at 500 for a t-shirt) and earn 1000 points, she'll let us design a hoodie. We plan to cost her some cash this year!! Everyone has a goal. Most 7th graders need to earn 55 points, and eighth graders need 60 for the year. Each week, Haug prints off our names with our percentage of yearly goal achieved. As we hit our yearly goal early we get a cold bottle of water and choice of snacks to celebrate. The class shows appreciation by clapping for us. Haug likes it when we set and achieve goals. |
